Treat ME more seriously, doctors ordered - Telegraph
Extract:
"ME, or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, affects 193,000 people in Britain. Symptoms can include debilitating fatigue, headaches, sleep problems and muscle pain.
Doctors had argued over whether the condition existed. Some experts suggested it was just "yuppie flu".
Sir Liam Donaldson, the Government's chief medical officer, sought to end the controversy in 2002 when he said it was a genuine and disabling condition.
The disease is also listed as a neurological disorder by the World Health Organisation.
The guidance from Nice recommends that doctors develop a management plan for each patient.
Doctors should also offer advice on activity, rest periods, sleep patterns, diet, equipment to help maintain independence such as the blue badge for disabled drivers, and advice on fitness to work or study."
It is very helpful for people with ME to cut down on their intake of salt and salty food. They will then have much more energy.

Do you often feel faint? dizzy? disorientated? whoozy? confused? muddled? weak? fragile? tired? sleepy? in pain? - Are you sure you are eating enough?
If you are dieting/'slimming'/calorie counting/eating low fat meals/low calorie meals or other restrictive food regimes, then any of these could be causing your symptoms. - They could also be causing you to be anaemic, depressed, to have heavy periods and other menstrual problems, to have acne, eczema, swollen hands/feet, fluid retention, and a host of other unpleasant, difficult, tiring problems of ill-health.
But if you are wanting to lose excess weight, it is not necessary to restrict how much food you eat in any way at all! - EXCEPT - YOU NEED TO CUT DOWN ON SALT/SODIUM AND JUNK FOOD. - EAT LESS SALT AND SALTY MEALS. - Other than that, you need to eat plenty of REAL food, including plenty of fruit and fresh vegetables, and plenty of calcium. There is much more detail and much more information on my website:

Two giant mobile phone companies are going to move a mast at a primary school, after parents claimed their children became ill.
The school that took on mobile phone companies - The Independent
Extracts:
"Two giant mobile phone companies are to move a mast at a primary school, after parents claimed their children fell sick.
The mast was already in use when St Edward's RC primary school opened in Coleshill, Warwickshire 11 years ago. It is owned by O2, which rents space on it to Orange. An O2 spokesman said "there were concerns from some of the local people that there are health issues" but added that the mast posed no risks to health."
"56 per cent of the children and 86 per cent of the staff had problems sleeping, 54 per cent and 59 per cent respectively were getting headaches and migraines, and 46 per cent and 95 per cent respectively reported fatigue and numbness. About 45 per cent of teachers and pupils had red eyes; other symptoms included dizziness, nosebleeds, nausea and hearing strange hums and clicks."
Do your health a big favour and also lose weight - by eating less salt! Go on! - Try it! - You will feel so much better!

Just a little bit more about statins and the benefits of no longer taking them...
On today's Letters Page of the Sunday Telegraph - Letters Page - there is the following letter:
"I threw away my statins after reading Dr James LeFanu (Second Opinion, March 18) and I am a new man. The insufferable total fatigue, the aches and pains, the fainting fits, and more have all gone. I want to tell everyone!
D J T Williams, Shurdington, Gloucestershire"
That's good news! - And since the writer wants 'to tell everyone' I don't suppose s/he minds my copying the letter into this blogpost...(o:
And here is a bit more about statins that is in Dr LeFanu's Second Opinion article in the Sunday Telegraph today:
"Finally, a couple of FAQs on the great statin issue. Could they be causing my aching hips, irritability, skin rash, forgetfulness, etc? Perhaps, but not necessarily: the only way to find out is to give them a rest.
Can stopping them suddenly be dangerous? No, the hazards they are meant to protect against, while real, are long-term."
