FoxNews reports on a study that suggests mental problems may lead to people seeking unnecessary nose jobs/rhinoplasty. It is suggested that some people requesting nose jobs are really suffering from body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). Personally, I tend to be somewhat sceptical about putative mental illnesses like body dysmorphic disorder.
If you are considering a nose job because your nose is too big/fat/bulbous and it has been suggested to you that you are obsessing about an imaginary problem and do not need such an operation, let me suggest a non-surgical, non-psychological therapy you may like to try.
If you seriously cut down on salt/sodium and salty food, your fat nose will become less fat. - Truly it will. - And less red and swollen. - This is because the blood vessels will become less dilated. (Cutting down on alcohol also helps with the problem.)
Reducing your sodium intake also reduces excess weight and lowers high blood pressure and has a multitude of other health benefits, including making you feel much better in every way. - Why not give it a try? - Go on! - Give yourself and your nose a real treat!...(o:

Low Carb, High Fat: LCHF. This is such an engaging little video about losing weight.
I apologise for its title, but this little video is really so good and great fun to watch.
It's from a Swedish paleo type movement, LCHF (Low Carb High Fat).
youtube
Note: Paleo is short for paleolithic, and refers to the (Old) Stone Age. Obviously Stone Age people had a very low intake of salt/sodium.

It would be great if ordinary members of the public could easily buy low sodium or no sodium baking powder in order to make scones and cakes and dumplings, etc. that are healthier for people who need to have a low sodium intake. If you know of any shop that sells potassium baking powder it would be helpful if you would kindly tell us about it using the Comment facility on the blog or by sending me an email from my website.
I found the website of a company that sells these and other specialised baking powders - Kudos Blends Ltd at http://www.kudosblends.co.uk/ - but they only supply in large quantities to industrial bakeries. It would be good if more bakeries decided to use potassium baking powder to make some low sodium baked scones, etc for the high proportion of their customers who would benefit from lower sodium intake. You'd be surprised how high in salt/sodium most scones are.
